The Mayor of Bromley hosted a small reception in the Old Palace at Bromley Civic Centre to pay tribute to the contributions made by resident volunteers.

The civic reception for voluntary workers is an annual event which, for the past two years, had been unable to be held due to the lockdown restrictions. Fortunately, this year has allowed the event to be held once again, however, on a much smaller scale than in previous years. The nominated volunteers from across the borough, along with their respective guests, were invited to attend the reception today to receive a special thanks from the Mayor of Bromley.

Bromley Mayor Councillor Russell L. Mellor said “Our borough has a strong and proud tradition of volunteering, and it is one of the things that make Bromley such a special place to live. I am pleased to pay tribute to the volunteers today, but I also want to thank everyone who volunteers in lots of different ways, the small ways as well, which supports our borough and residents with the benefits this brings being appreciated by so many. If you find yourself inspired to volunteer, I encourage you to take the first step on that journey.”
