The majority of Bromley’s children heading off to primary school for the first time in September will again be able to attend one of their preferred schools.

More than 96 per cent of on-time applicants received an offer of one of their top three preferences and 98 per cent received one of their preferred schools, with nearly 87 per cent getting their first choice.

This good news follows the pleasing figures announced last month that show 90 per cent of Bromley’s secondary school children will be attending one of their top four choices of schools.

Director of Education, Jared Nehra said: “It is an enormous step for children starting school and for them to be able to go to one they and their parents have indicated as a preference provides an excellent start to the learning experience. We wish them all the very best at the start of their education journey.”

Demand for places is still high in the borough and the council continues to work with a range of schools, parents and prospective parents to help ensure there are sufficient places to meet demand and provide a choice of good schools.
