A New Skatepark for Crystal Palace Park

A new skatepark has opened at Crystal Palace Park in time for the Easter holidays.

The skatepark sees skateboarding return to the park, where the first major UK national skateboarding competition took place in 1977. The 1,100m2 (11840 ft2) wheeled sports facility was designed by Kinnear Landscape Architects and designed and installed by Canvas Ltd. 

Featuring a range of terrains for BMX, quad-skating, rollerblading, scootering and skateboarding, the skate park offers something for all abilities including a cloverleaf pool for those with more advanced skills and a mellow section for those of all abilities. The skatepark was chosen for funding following consultation with the local community supported by the relatively newly formed Friends of Crystal Palace Skatepark. Read more...
