Graffiti on ntl boxes is being cleaned off thanks to a radical agreement between ntl and the Council’s graffiti removal team. The deal will enable Bromley to provide a designated graffiti crew to focus on graffiti removal from the ntl boxes across the borough for at least the next six months.

“We applaud the sensible and responsible approach that ntl are adopting. It is pleasing to be working with them on this. We are already cleaning off graffiti from houses across the borough - as well as council property. Now we can include ntl’s boxes. We are determined to maintain the quality of our street environment” said Councillor George Taylor, Executive Councillor for the Environment.

Ashley Adams, Head of Design and Civils at ntl said, “We are delighted to work with Bromley Council on this project. Graffiti is an issue that affects us all and we are pleased that we can help improve the environment for people in the local area.”

The graffiti removal agreement includes all of ntl’s 3000 boxes in the borough. It is hoped that the agreement will be extended when current arrangements end in December. Residents can report graffiti on the boxes to the Council who will remove it. Residents can also report graffiti online at www.bromley.gov.uk/neatstreet or by calling 020 8313 4557.

The Council dealt with over 4800 graffiti ‘incidents’ last year and there have already been 1100 reported incidents since April this year.
