main content Give us your views on crime, disorder and drugs

11 February 2005

Bromley residents and business workers were consulted in The Glades this week (9 February 2005) as part of official feedback on the recent audit of Crime, Disorder and Drugs, carried out by the Safer Bromley Partnership.

The consultation forms part of a wider process to discover people’s views on the audit and about the vision and priorities that will form the basis of the Community Safety Strategy from 2005 to 2008.

The Safer Bromley Partnership - comprising representatives from the Council, Police, health, probation, fire service, businesses and housing – is continuing to gather views of residents and businesses on the audit findings.

The audit provides valuable information about crime, disorder and drugs in Bromley from a wide range of sources including the emergency services, Bromley Council, health agencies, voluntary groups and Bromley residents.

Councillor Colin Smith, the Council’s Executive Councillor for Community Safety and Chairman of the Safer Bromley Partnership said; ‘The consultation in The Glades today is a great way of finding out Bromley people’s concerns about safety in the borough. By listening to residents and businesses we can take account of their views on issues that really matter and then incorporate these in the Safer Bromley Partnership strategy. By completing the questionnaire or responding by email, people really can contribute to the debate and help to make Bromley a safer place for everyone.’

Nozmul Hussain the Head of Community Safety Services added: ‘The findings of the audit will form the cornerstone of the Partnership’s Community Safety Strategy, which will set out the key priorities to reduce crime and disorder in Bromley and include details of how the Partnership intends to build a safer community for all, over the next three years.’
