Success for innovative community teams
Two Bromley teams are highly ranked among some of the biggest names in industry after reaching the finals of the National Customer Service Awards.
Staff from the Cotmandene Centre in St Paul’s Cray and Mottingham Community Learning Shop are in the running for the Frontline Customer Service Team of the Year award, selected from 162 entries. Bromley Children Project has been shortlisted in the Customer Service Team of the Year - Public Services and Education category from 55 entries. Nominations were from the private and public sectors across the country and Bromley is one of only two local authorities to have teams in the finals of more than one category.
Council Leader Councillor Stephen Carr said: "This is an fantastic achievement by our own staff and those from partner agencies. They respond to the local communities in which they are based to provide the type of services really needed, delivering them on their doorstep."
"National recognition against such stiff opposition demonstrates innovation in delivering appropriate services cost effectively because they have been developed with the people who use them. We are extremely proud and wish our teams the best of luck in the finals."
Now in its sixth year, the National Customer Service Awards aims to promote excellence, best practice and innovation in customer service. The teams must now present their service to seven senior industry judges in July, when they will be competing against large commercial organizations such as AA Insurance Services and Balfour Beatty Utilities Ltd.
Winners will be announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, on 20 September.
