Ladies only driver confidence course
There were record numbers of women on Bromley's 'Ladies Only Driver Confidence Course' so there is a chance to attend one again this May.
"The feedback we had on the last course was so positive we felt we must run another one. Some ladies can feel intimidated in what may be deemed a 'male' environment. We want this to change. All three of our female road safety officers are advanced drivers and two were previously driving instructors," said Rosemary Tullett, one of the female instructors.
Advanced driving is not all about driving to the limit.
Advanced driving is the ability to make a journey safely. Driving should be enjoyable, even on our busy roads. It is about expecting the unexpected, keeping cool, always being at the right speed and position to deal with any hazards that come your way. You will also find, if you drive smoothly, your fuel consumption and wear and tear on your car will reduce."
Driving courses are run throughout the year and are suitable for all standards of driver with a full licence. During the course there is a chance to have your driving skills assessed by an observer from the Institute of Advanced Motorists to see how you have progressed. You may then want to go on to take your IAM test.
Gift vouchers are also available for all our driving courses - for the man who thinks he has everything!
The Ladies Only course starts on Tuesday 10 May 7 to 9pm and lasts for six weeks. It costs only £27. The observed drive on the ladies course takes place on Sunday 12 June.
