main content Apple be the day

13 October 2005

Celebrate the availability of distinctive local apple varieties and help support local apple farmers during a fun-packed and informative day at High Elms Country Park on Sunday 23 October.

Apple Day is the annual nationwide celebration of all things apple and visitors to the free Apple Day event at High Elms will be able to sample many different local apple varieties and taste apple juice freshly pressed on the day.

There will be displays and information about apples grown locally, community orchards, apple recipes, apple games, the longest apple peel competition, apple printing and for anyone who finds an apple variety they do not want to leave behind, there will be apples for sale.

Bromley Countryside Ranger, Fiona Annal said: “Apple Day gives everyone the chance to sample the amazing variety of apples grown locally. It’s lovely to find varieties with tastes reminiscent of days gone by and there are many which you would be unable to buy in most shops. Come along for a tasty and memorable day out.”

Visitors should park in the main car park off High Elms Road, High Elms Country Park, Shire Lane, near Farnborough, Bromley, BR6 7JH. The event starts at 11.30am and finishes at 4pm.
