Palace star drops in on holiday course
Crystal Palace Football Club (CPFC) star Emerson Boyce dropped in to meet players attending a holiday course at Darrick Wood Sports Centre this half term as part of the fantastic ‘buzz’ programme for under 11s.
Emerson signed autographs, answered questions and was delighted to meet a young Liverpool supporter on the course following the Eagles victory over them last week in the Carling Cup.
Emerson said “It's great to see young players on the CPFC football in the community scheme learning core techniques including passing, shooting, dribbling and turning as well as tactical aspects of the game like movement off the ball and making space for other players”.
This was just one of hundreds of courses on offer on the buzz programme co-ordinated by Bromley Mytime, the charitable leisure trust that operates leisure facilities in partnership with Bromley Council.
As well as the popular holiday time courses, CPFC football in the community scheme offers weekly ‘Skills Sessions’ and ‘Mini Soccer’ sessions at most Bromley Mytime facilities across the borough. Boys and girls aged 6 to 11 years of all abilities are welcome to attend. Players that show talent and potential can also be recommended for trials at the Crystal Palace FC development centre or academy.
