Walnuts provide more time to swim
The Walnuts Leisure Centre in Orpington is opening up for more public swimming and a new Aqua Fit programme. Bromley Mytime, the charitable leisure trust, operates these facilities in partnership with Bromley Council, has been consulting with customers throughout the summer and is now adapting its programme accordingly.
Adult lane swimming will be available on Thursday evenings between 8.30pm to 10pm and there is a new Aqua Fit programme on Wednesdays between 8pm to 9pm, suitable for all ages. Swimming is a great choice for fitness and if you have not been to a pool for a while things have certainly changed.
Double Olympic medallist Nick Gillingham MBE said on a visit to Bromley; “I have been all over the country and seen numerous facilities and these are amongst the best. These are well run, clean, affordable pools together with enthusiastic and friendly staff.”
Maryrose McMahon, manager of the Walnuts Leisure Centre, said; “We are delighted to be able to offer more public swimming time and are sure that this additional time, together with our new Aqua Fit programme, will prove very popular. Swimming is a great stamina builder, vital to burn those calories, toning your entire body while giving you an excellent cardiovascular workout. “
