Bromley's childcare came top of the class in OfSTED inspection amongst the outer London boroughs.
OfSTED has just released its quarterly inspection results for early years and childcare. Inspections were graded good, satisfactory and unsatisfactory for:
- childminders;
- sessional day (pre-schools);
- out of school day care;
- full day care;
- multiple day care (offers more than one type of day care); and
- crèche day care.
In Bromley two-thirds of all registered childcare provision was awarded good, with one-third being graded satisfactory and tiny percentage received unsatisfactory. These figures put Bromley top amongst the outer London boroughs for childminders, out of school provision and sessional day care.
Graham Arthur, Executive Councillor for Children and Young People ,said: "We are delighted that the hard work that our childcare providers have undertaken has been reflected in the improved OfSTED results. Clearly this provides us with a solid foundation upon which to build, ensuring quality for children in Bromley".
