The Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYDCP) held their Annual General Meeting on Monday 20 March, bringing the year's business to close and also to present the annual Early Years and Childcare Awards.

For the second year the EYDCP celebrated the skills, abilities, determination and sheer hard work of those people who work with children and young people, by having an award to recognise their achievements. Nominations for the awards were open to all adults working with children and young people, including childminders, pre-school workers, nursery nurses, playworkers and volunteers.

This year the awards were presented by Gillian Pearson, Assistant Director of Education and Libraries, and were awarded to:

Denise Hulls, Blenheim Children's Centre
Geoff Simmons Playworker on Xtra Older Summer Playscheme
Ann Glover - Childminder
Audrey Bishop - Pre-School Assistant, St John's Pre-School
Monica Sanderson - Pre-School Leader, St George's Pre-School
Gypsy Traveller Project - The Cray's

A Council spokesman said: "It is always wonderful to be able to honour those who work so hard for the benefit of Bromley's children and young people. Well done to all of those who received an award and we look forward to next years awards".
