An Orpington woman was fined a total of £1,000 and ordered to pay £150 costs for two noise offences involving loud music.

Amanda Gun of Clarendon Way pleaded guilty at Bromley Magistrates Court on 13 December to two offences. An abatement notice was served by Bromley Council on 17 August 2005 for playing loud amplified music and the notice was breached twice over one weekend in May 2006.

“Noise can cause disruption and distress to everyone, at home, at leisure, at work and at study,” said Cllr. George Taylor, Executive Councillor for Public Protection and Safety and Chairman of the Safer Bromley Partnership. “Complaints are always taken seriously and this case demonstrates that we will take action where noise is found to be unreasonable.”
