China visit Council to learn how to maximise resources
When tax officers from China wanted to visit this country to find out how we collect taxes and revenue, they chose Bromley Council as a local authority that is improving its council tax collection service year on year. And the Council is on course to increase collection again for 2005/06.
On 15th February the Chinese delegation spent time with council officers and Liberata, the contractors who collect the tax for Bromley Council. They wanted to learn how Bromley achieves its success in the management and collection of local council tax and how the partnership with Liberata works. The delegation also met officers from HM Treasury, HM Revenue and Customs and the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
