23 January 2006

The Field Studies Centre in Scadbury Park is aiming to bring local businesses together for the pick of their trainees currently seeking work experience.

A special ‘Employers’ Day’ is planned at the Centre on Tuesday 24 January, 2006 between 10am and 4pm. People who run businesses in Bromley will be welcome to drop in and find out more.

The Centre offers a variety of courses including painting and decorating, construction crafts, land based operations and environmental conservation to the long-term unemployed and all successful candidates receive a certificate to show what they have achieved.

The Centre is seeking employers who would like to take on trainees for four-week work placements including where appropriate helping to move individuals into employment.

Bromley’s head of countryside and community development for leisure and culture said: “This is the first time we have organised this kind of open day and we hope that a good number of local businesses will come along. They will be able to let us know the skills they require from their employees and stand to benefit from the work of our trainees.”
