main content Looking ahead to the needs of older people

29 September 2006

Earlier this year, Bromley Council asked residents and representative groups of older people to feedback to a Select Committee on Older People’s Independence about the impact of service changes it had made to its care services such as meals services, day care and domiciliary care and changes in eligibility criteria. Engaging with older people across the borough was a crucial part of the work the Select Committee whose recommendations were considered by the Council’s scrutiny committee for Adult and Community Services on 26 September.

The Select Committee’s work is part of the Council’s long term planning to support the independence of older people in Bromley who require care and support because of ill health or disability.

The recommendations are to be considered by the Executive Councillor for Adult and Community Services, Councillor Graham Arthur, in October.
