Eltham College provided the setting for the annual Bromley Schools’ Integrated Swimming Gala. In its 20th year, the event featured six special schools and six secondary mainstream schools from across the Bromley borough with the Mayor, Councillor Charles Joel, also in attendance. Over 120 pupils participated within 15 races that were designed to encourage inclusion and co-operation but with a competitive edge. Swimmers even challenged each other with the use of rafts and great enjoyment was also to be had with other races such as the relays. Year 10 Junior Sport Leaders from The Priory provided support within the pool but all participants and coaches agreed afterwards that they had experienced a fabulous time. The event was organised by Giles Platt and Guy Wilkins from the Bromley Schools’ Sports Partnership with financial assistance from Bromley Schools’ Sports Council.
