School admissions for September 2007
The admissions process for the September 2007 entry has run smoothly again this year. The majority of parents have been offered their first choice of school, with 82% receiving a first or second place preference.
On 2 March, parents and carers of 3,350 Year 6 children received letters or emails in the case of online applications telling them the outcome of their secondary school applications. No parents in Bromley will be without a secondary school place.
Bromley is part of the Pan-London coordinated process, through which councils and schools confer regarding the offer of places, providing a uniform approach across London
Councillor Ernest Noad, Cabinet executive member for Children and Young People, states
“The majority of parents and carers have been offered their preferred school. This will reduce the length of the waiting lists and will reduce the numbers of appeals. This is great news for parents and their children and underlines our commitment to meeting parental preferences wherever possible.”
