main content Temporary closure of Cannock House Day Nursery

19 March 2007

On 18 March the Health Protection Agency (HPA) informed the Council of a number of cases of diarrhoea and vomiting at Cannock House Day Nursery. Three children have been treated in hospital for symptoms similar to those caused by the bacterium E Coli. As a precautionary measure, and in consultation with the school, the HPA have closed the Nursery to prevent the spread of person-to-person infection while the cause is established.

Parents have been provided with an information leaflet and advised of the situation.
