Glebe School team off to Consumer Challenge national final
Kids from
Glebe School, otherwise known as the KGS team were the proud winners of this year’s Consumer Challenge Quiz organised by Bromley
Trading Standards. They pipped other teams such as Pink Panthers, Roller Rebels and Black Bullets to the highest score in a knockout competition at the Civic Centre.
The Consumer Challenge Quiz is a special annual event for children with learning difficulties. It aims to raise awareness of consumer issues including their rights. The teams answered questions on a range of subjects such as consumer rights, signs, symbols, organisations that can help, how to complain and food matters.
All teams received medals and certificates recognising their efforts and a trophy was presented to the winning team who will go forward to a grand final at the Trading Standards’ national conference in Manchester later in the year.
Richard Foulger, Bromley’s Chief Environmental Health Officer said: “In this day and age it’s important to be aware of consumer issues. All the teams showed they already knew a thing or two about their rights. I wish all the teams the very best of luck.”
