main content Noise Action Week – a chance to sound out some helpful advice

14 May 2007

Residents will be able to get help and advice on tackling everyday noise problems close to home during Noise Action week which runs from Monday 21 May to Friday 25 May, 2007.

Bromley Council in partnership with Broomleigh Housing Association will launch the week in Albemarle Road, next to St Georges Road in Beckenham where the ‘Noisemobile’ will be crammed with helpful posters, leaflets and brochures. A traditional Town Crier and ‘Friendly Bear’ will be on hand to spread the word along with members of Bromley’s noise nuisance team who will answer questions and help residents solve noise issues in their neighbourhood.

Later in the week the team will be in other parts of the borough. The road-show will be in the Walnuts on Tuesday, at the Co-op car park in Mottingham on Wednesday, the Library parking bay at Pallant Way, Bromley on Thursday and at the Market Square end of the High Street in Bromley Town Centre on Friday 25 May.

“Noise complaints are at record levels. We’ve had more than 3700 over the last 12 months,” said Richard Foulger, Chief Environmental Health Officer at Bromley Council. “They often lead to disputes between neighbours but sometimes these can be avoided with a little thought. The noise team will be offering advice and help on what to do when things get consistently out of hand.”
