News from the Safer Bromley Partnership…

A programme of community clean-ups is getting under way around the borough.

Selected neighbourhoods will get day-long attention from council services, local police, Broomleigh Housing and other members of the Safer Bromley Partnership. The variety of agencies working together with local people will clear rubbish and graffiti and establish surroundings in which people feel safe and are proud to live and work.

Cllr Colin Bloom, Chairman of the Safer Bromley Partnership, said: “The new programme of clean-ups will run through the autumn and the hope is that local people will see what a difference can be made in their area and will work with members of the partnership to discourage further bad behaviour.

“Residents should not have to put up with surroundings that are spoiled by a thoughtless minority in the community,” he added. “The multi-agency clean-up programme is very successful in giving neighbourhoods a good clean sweep, setting the scene for more long-term work to encourage residents to report antisocial behaviour in confidence so that it can be dealt with effectively.”

For more information, or to report a non-emergency incident, contact either your local police Safer Neighbourhood Team or Bromley Council’s Antisocial Behaviour Unit.
