Crystal Palace Park planning application received
A planning application relating to Crystal Palace Park has been received by the Council. The application will now be formally registered by the Council’s planning team. Public consultation will then take place about the London Development Agency (LDA) proposals for the park.
Peter Martin, Head of Heritage and Urban Design at Bromley Council said: “We are aware of the public interest in this application and that the LDA have carried out their own consultation in connection with the plans they have submitted. It is important, however that residents or interested groups respond to the Council’s consultation. If people have comments or thoughts about the application, we want to hear from them. Residents should be assured that there will be ample time to comment.”
The proposals include:
- Change of use of caravan site to part residential and part public open space
- Change of use of former museum to park rangers’ facility
- Erection of park-related buildings including two glasshouses, palace kiosks, café and dinosaur interpretation centre, cricket pavilion, café and community facilities
- Erection of regional sports centre including indoor swimming pool
- Erection of up to 180 residential dwellings in 8 buildings with a maximum of 5 storeys
- Erection of an educational and training facility including residential accommodation of up to 30 bed spaces
- Construction of a tree-top walkway
- Creation of adventure playgrounds and a skate park
- Landscape works including water features
- Partial demolition of structures attached to the National Sports Centre
Once the planning application has been registered, residents will be able to view and make comments online by visiting www.bromley.gov.uk/planningaccess. The application will be available to view in libraries local to the park. Comments can also be submitted in writing to The Chief Planner, London Borough of Bromley, Civic Centre, Bromley, BR1 3UH or by emailing planning@bromley.gov.uk
