Family fun day in West Wickham
The Spectacular Summer Fun Day takes place in West Wickham Town Centre on Saturday 16th August between 10am – 6pm. The day will include children’s rides for the under 10s, face painting, barbecue, shop discounts, food tasting, craft activities, bouncy castle, fairground games, various stalls, line dancing, salsa dancing, a visit from Miss Bromley, and you can even have your photo taken with some Storm Troopers! Activities will be spread right down the High Street and round into Station Road, so there will be plenty to see and do. You may even bump into R2D2 and C3PO if you come along!
The event is set to be a fantastic fun filled day and has been organised by the traders of West Wickham, The West Wickham Town Centre Association, in partnership with the Town Centre Manager, Lorraine McQuillan, from the London Borough of Bromley. The fun day is being held to encourage additional custom to the town centre and to provide a local community event for all the family, and if it is a success the WWTCA are hoping it will become a regular event. The fun day will also help to raise money for town centre projects such as Christmas lights. The Christmas lights and Christmas Festival are funded mainly by contributions from local businesses with a donation from the London Borough of Bromley so any fundraising event will certainly help to keep the Christmas festivities going in the Town Centre. Lorraine McQuillan, Town Centre Manager, says “I hope the local community will come along and join in all the fun and also support their local shops, I look forward to seeing you all there!”
