Supporting people in temporary accommodation
As part of its work to help those living in temporary accommodation to access health services, education and employment, the Council is talking to people who have experienced homelessness and live in such accommodation. It wants to learn from their experience and give the support needed to overcome problems they may face.
The consultation included holding two focus groups at an information day where people could find out about the range of Council services available including housing options, child care services, employment initiatives, adult education among others. The day, held on January 15, also involved Sainsbury who is working with the Council to help promote ideas for healthy eating on a budget.
