main content Basketball Festival for Years 3 and 4

The 2nd annual Bromley Borough Basketball Festival for years 3 and 4 took place on January 22 at Bishop Justus School. Eleven teams took part, a total of 70 children from nine local primary schools. The first part of the Festival was organised by the Bishop Justus Junior Sports Leaders, who co-ordinated a rota of fun activities based on the skills of basketball. The second half of the Festival saw the teams competing against each other in 5 v 5 basketball matches, and was officiated by senior students from Coopers School. Parents and teachers watching the Festival were impressed by the maturity of all the Sports Leaders and by the enthusiasm of the young participants. The eventual winner was Chislehurst Primary School, who beat Tubbenden Primary in an exciting Grand Final. The Fair Play Award was given to Valley Primary School for their team spirit and positive attitude. Individual player awards were also given out to six students who performed outstandingly throughout the afternoon.
