Borough gets ready for "Summer Uni Bromley"
Over 900 places on free courses and activities are on offer for young people in Bromley this summer. Whether it’s young parents wanting to get some free training, or a student wanting to try their hand at making their own video game,
Summer Uni Bromley has something to offer.
Bromley Council wanted to be able to provide its young people with positive activities during the summer holiday period and, with the help of Broomleigh Housing Association, won a grant to allow the scheme to run. It’s thanks to the Jack Petchey Foundation and London Challenge’s generous grants that 900+ young people can be on their way to enrolling on one of the many courses available this summer.
Executive Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People Services , Councillor Ernest Noad, said, “As a Local Authority we have a special responsibility to ensure that the borough’s children and young people are able to participate in positive activities. We are very pleased that the Summer Uni programme will offer so many opportunities for young people that will not only be engaging and fun, but that will also help with future employment and educational prospects.”
