Page Heath Lane, Bromley and Albemarle Road, Beckenham closed for emergency water works

Thames Water have closed Page Heath Lane, Bromley and Albemarle Road, Beckenham to repair burst water mains, with the emergency repair work estimated to take a number of days.

The road will be shut until early next week, with the exact date not yet known. Page Heath Lane is closed between Bird in Hand Lane and Amesbury Road.
Although diversions are in place, motorists are advised that local congestion is expected, particularly as the emergency gas work being undertaken by SGN in nearby Homesdale Road is continuing, with this work not expected to be complete until next Friday 23 December.
Whilst it is recognised that local motorists may find other routes, the signposted diversion route for the Thames Water work will start from Masons Hill/Bromley Common on the A21, where road closed signage will be in place.
Diversion routes in both directions, depending on the direction being travelled :
The diversion route is along A21 Masons Hill, Kentish Way, Widmore Road, Bickley Road and the diversion will then end at Page Heath Lane.
Motorists travelling in the opposite direction will be diverted along Bromley Common, Crown Lane Spur, Crown Lane, Southborough Lane, Blackbrook Lane, Bickley Park Road and the diversion will then also end at Page Heath Lane.
Shops, businesses and the Waldo Road Reuse and Recyling centre will remain open, with access via A21 Masons Hill/Bromley Common at the junction with Homesdale Road.
The bus route number 336 is also unaffected by these works.
Albemarle Road, Beckenham
Please also note that Albemarle Road, Beckenham is closed between junctions of Downs Bridge Road and Hazelhurst because of a burst water main, with the burst closer to the Downsbridge Road junction.
Traffic will be diverted via Westgate Road, Bromley Road A222, Downsbridge Road in both directions and the road is expected to be closed until early next week when Thames Water have completed their repair work.
