Westmoreland Road traffic works underway

Major traffic works at Westmoreland Road, including remodelling the new entrance into St Mark’s Square and upgrading and the permanent traffic lights, is underway.

The work is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks, with Bromley bound traffic being affected to a greater extent because of the lane closure which is needed to facilitate the works.  Traffic travelling the opposite direction (towards Pickhurst Lane/Langley Park) will still have both lanes open at all times so this direction is expected to run mostly as normal.

Motorists are being advised to leave extra time for their journeys or find alternative routes during this period.

Westmoreland Road is provisionally programmed to be re-surfaced in June 2018, with the work which is underway now needing to be complete before the new road surface is laid, thereby avoiding the need for the new surface to be damaged by the current works, which are needed as part of the St Marks Square development which is being constructed.
