Urgent Thames Water repairs in Crystal Palace Park Road

Published Friday, 29 June 2018

Thames Water are making emergency repairs to a serious water leak in Crystal Palace Park Road near the junction of Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham.

To minimise congestion, temporary three way traffic lights are now in operation. Thames Water have advised that it is likely that their works will be ongoing until the end of next week, Friday 6 July 2018.

Work on the water main cannot be undertaken during the daytime, because the water main is in demand and local residents are likely to be affected by the loss of water, Thames Water can only work on it after 21:00 hours.

It is understood that there is potential sewer damage from the impact of the burst water main and Thames Water are arranging for their waste water inspectors to look into this. If the sewer is damaged, this may delay the completion date.
