Snow White has escaped her wicked stepmother to come to Bromley for the panto and headline Blue Peter’s Christmas special next week.
The BBC's flagship children's programme is showing footage of the Christmas parade through the High Street, the lights switch on and presenter Barney Harwood's first performance in the pantomime on Monday's episode at 4.30pm. Viewers will also see a repeat of the spectacular fireworks display that lit up the skyline above Market Square .
Blue Peter presenter and pantomime star Barney Harwood said: "This is my first visit to Bromley and it reminds me of home with such friendly people. The fantastic audiences here have been another character in the show! I'm looking forward to spending more time seeing what Bromley has to offer and doing some of my Christmas shopping in the town centre."
"The traditional pantomime is one of many things that Bromley has to offer this festive season. Our decorations, lights, events, markets and free parking offer make the town centre an enticing place for residents and shoppers this Christmas. Don't forget to come along to our interactive nativity scene in the town centre next Thursday evening and see the story of Christmas brought to life" said Councillor Stephen Carr, Leader of Bromley Council.
Free parking will be on offer in the Civic Centre and Hill car parks in Bromley town centre every Thursday until 22 Dec from 3pm - 9pm. There will also be additional parking for shoppers available over the Christmas period. The Civic Centre car park in Bromley town centre will be offering more spaces from Monday 12 December until Monday 2 January. The Christmas lights, festive celebrations and free parking initiative are supported by the Mayor of London's Outer London Fund that aims to strengthen the vibrancy and growth of high streets and their environs.
Bromley residents and shoppers will also be treated to the annual Christmas Markets in the High Street from Friday 9 December. The market is open everyday from 9am until 5pm until Saturday 24 December. There will be a diverse range of stalls offering gifts, crafts, jewellery, plants, fresh vegetables, preserves, English and German specialities and much more.
