A long-term contract to manage the Churchill Theatre has been awarded to Qdos Entertainment following a tender exercise.
The 25 year agreement, which assures the Churchill’s future, will see Bromley’s premier theatre managed by Qdos Entertainment, one of the country’s largest theatre management companies. The new agreement will commence in April 2016, with the existing programme continuing until then.
Councillor Peter Morgan, Executive Councillor for Renewal and Recreation said, "We are absolutely delighted to welcome Qdos to Bromley. We are confident that Qdos will produce the quality shows that residents and local theatregoers expect in an agreement that provides excellent value to council taxpayers. I would like to acknowledge and thank ATG for their work over the years and wish them well in the future. The Churchill Theatre is yet another reason to visit our improving town centre and I am encouraged by the Qdos commitment to providing quality cultural experiences we can all enjoy."
Nick Thomas, Chairman of Qdos Entertainment, said, "We are delighted that our company Qdos and its subsidiary HQ Theatres & Hospitality has been chosen to take over the Churchill Theatre Bromley. I know the theatre very well, having produced pantomimes and a number of co-productions there in the past."
"We believe in local theatres for local people - and so we put the local customer at the heart of everything we do. Our theatres are renowned for excellent customer service, and for the superb dining and hospitality experiences we offer alongside a brilliant programme of top-class shows on stage. We shall make the large public spaces at the Churchill Theatre exciting and welcoming, by offering excellent, value-for-money eating and drinking experiences, and a tempting array of new entertainment-with-food packages."
"I have a great fondness for the Churchill Theatre, and I am thrilled that after a gap of many years, we shall be presenting our high-quality, star-led, traditional family pantomimes in Bromley once again, to delight and entertain young and old alike," Nick added.
