Volunteer in child protection
An opportunity to befriend a family in the Borough with a child at risk, and help to protect that child.
Details
Volunteers in Child Protection are matched with a family of a child on the Bromley Child Protection Register. Volunteers will visit the family and child regularly and frequently during the week helping parents to improve their parenting skills, befriending and supporting them, thereby helping to protect the child.
Volunteers will be interviewed, checked by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and local authority, trained, supported in their role and reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses.
Eligibility
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or over and must be able to commit to visiting a family at least 3 times per week for a minimum period of 6 months. Living within easy reach of the London Borough of Bromley is essential due to the frequency of visits required, as all families will live within the Borough of Bromley.
