LINks – Help shape Bromley’s health and social care services

Local Improvement Networks (LINkS) are being set up for local people in Bromley to have their say about health and social care.

If you want to get involved, find out more or to tell us what issues are important to you, please email: linksfeedback@bromley.gov.uk

Background Information

The Bromley LINk will be the new way for local people, independently of the council and NHS to raise the health and social care issues that are important to them. Through their LINk, people in Bromley will have powers to get information from and make recommendations to those responsible for local services, and to the Council's overview and scrutiny committee, and to enter and view local services.
LINks will:
  • give everyone the chance to have their say about their local health and social care services;
  • enable people to check how those services are planned and run; and
  • make local people’s views known to those responsible for running health and social care services so that they change for the better.

Bromley LINk

In Bromley, a group of interested local individuals and organisations formed a Transitional Group in April to start to work out how the LINk will be structured, carry out its business, take decisions and communicate with the local community.  This group formally established the Bromley LINk on July 1st, 2008, under the guidance and governance of the LINk Development Group.

To inform and update people about the Bromley LINk, it has produced a Notice to LINk members and a Newssheet; copies have been sent to all registered LINk  members and can be downloaded here.

You can find out more about what the Bromley LINk is doing and how you can get involved, its meetings for all LINk members and its task groups examining specific issues here:

Health and Social Care Forum

Bromley Council with its NHS partners has also set up a Health and Social Care Forum to provide a focus for community involvement in health and social care issues until this function can be carried out formally by the new LINk.

Any individual or organisation with an interest in the health and social care of the people in Bromley can participate in or become a member of the LINk.  You do not have to be a member of the LINk to take part in its activities.  But by registering as a member you will be kept informed of what the LINk is doing and you will be given opportunities to give your views and get involved with the activities of the LINk, including helping to make key decisions and electing the core group of the substantive LINk. To register as a member of the LINk, please download and complete the forms either as an an Individual or as a representative of a Organisation.

  • Registering as a member of the LINk, involves no charge or commitment to get more involved.
  • To register as a member of the LINk, an individual must give their name and address if they have one.
  • An organisation must give its name and address and email address; and the name of a contact 'representative'.  If the preferred contact postal and email address of the representative is different from that of the organisation, then that should be given as well.
  • Being a member of an organisation does not automatically make you a representative of that organisation on the LINk.   You should register as an individual member of the LINk, unless the organisation chooses to register and name you as its representative .  Members of any organisation may join the LINK as individual members whether or not the organisation has joined the LINk as an organisation.
