Social Care Complaints Service
We aim to offer a helpful and efficient service, but we recognise that sometimes things can go wrong. We aim to put mistakes right quickly and we will not treat anybody unfavourably if they make a complaint about us. You have the right to tell us if something is wrong. We also value your comments because what you tell us about our services helps us to improve them and plan for the future. We also like to hear if you are pleased with the service you receive; knowing when we are doing well can be as informative as knowing when things go wrong.
A leaflet is currently being revised in line with the new procedures issued by the Department of Health and the Department for Education and Skills and an updated version will be available soon. If you would like to view these new regulations you can do so by clicking on the Adult Social Care complaints regulations and the Children's Social Care complaints regulations. You can also download our comments, compliments and complaints form which is called "Getting it Right". An accessible version of "Getting it right" is also available for people with learning disabilities. This can be completed and sent to us if you would like to make a complaint or pay a compliment.
Once your complaint has been received by us, we will write to you within 3 working days to tell you who is dealing with your complaint and how long it will take.
The Social Services and Housing Complaints Annual Reports 2007/2008 2006/2007 and 2005/2006 contain useful performance information about our complaints service.
