If you have received a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) you may wish to make a challenge/formal representations online (normally within 24 hours) or by writing to us at the address below.  You can now also view the photographs taken at the time of the contravention (normally within 24 hours).  If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your representations, you may choose to appeal to the independent Parking Adjudicator at the Parking and Traffic Appeals Service (www.parkingandtrafficappeals.gov.uk). Alternatively you may choose to pay the PCN  here.

When you contact us about the PCN please include any supporting evidence. Information about supporting evidence is available here.  Please ensure that you provide the following details:

  • the PCN number,
  • the vehicle registration and
  • your name and full postal address.
Without this information, it is difficult for us to respond as details of the contravention may not be traceable.

Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are issued in different ways according to legislation. See our frequently asked questions about the different appeal processes which apply according to how the PCN was issued.

  1. If a PCN was issued in person by a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) for a parking contravention.
  2. If a bus lane contravention PCN was issued by post using CCTV.
  3. If a parking contravention PCN was issued by post using CCTV.
If your challenge, representation or appeal is not successful, we will notify you how much money is due so you can pay the appropriate amount, or we will look to recover the monies.
