How to pay your Penalty Charge Notice

Do NOT ignore parking/bus lane Penalty Charge Notices (parking tickets). They may carry extra penalties if not paid or contested promptly.

The full fee payable will be clearly shown on your Penalty Charge Notice (parking ticket). A 50% discount is only permitted if payment is received within 14 days of the date of the Penalty Charge Notice being served.

However you pay, please ensure that you include the penalty charge notice reference number which starts BY and is followed by a series of numbers or letters.

You can pay:

  • online
  • telephone, using the credit or debit card payment line: 0870 240 6449
  • by post to the address shown under 'parking payments'
  • in person at the Civic Centre;  8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
