Parking permits and visitors' vouchers
We operate a number of permit parking schemes in the borough to allow parking within 'restricted' parking zones or roads. Permits may be available to businesses and residents depending upon location. Vouchers can be purchased enabling visitors to park.

Each scheme covers a carefully defined area which may be part of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
A CPZ allows signs to be placed on the entrances and exits to the 'zone' to enable individual signs within the area to be removed where they duplicate the same information. Therefore, restrictions such as varying times, disabled bays, loading bays and permit holder parking are still signed individually.
The parking spaces available for permit holders under each scheme are the result of detailed surveys that identify what space is available for safe parking and compare this against demand.
Parking restrictions include Bank Holidays (with the exception of Christmas Day and Boxing Day).
Residents can also buy visitors' vouchers for their friends and family to enable them to park whilst visiting.
