We have an extensive cycle network in the Borough. Contact us if you would like more information or call us to request our guide to cycle routes in the Borough.

Details

Our aim is to expand and improve the current network of cycle routes available in the Borough, using mainly quiet roads and where possible off-road routes linking shops and other amenities. These routes form part of the ‘London cycle network+’.

Cycle Lanes on roads

Cycle lanes encourage more people to cycle and provide a safer environment for cyclists. At traffic lights we can provide ‘advanced stop lines’ to help cyclists move off safely from traffic and give them priority.

Bus Lanes

Almost all bus lanes in the Borough are available for use by cyclists.

Shared Cycle/Pedestrian paths

A number of footpaths in the Borough have been converted to shared use for pedestrians and cyclists, where it has been considered safe to do so. However, cycling is only permitted on pavements where clearly signposted.

Cycling is permitted in some of the Borough parks, providing safe off-road routes, such as Jubilee Park which links Petts Wood to Bromley Town Centre.
