Sessions take place at different venues around the borough. Themes have included: diagnostic process; parents taking time for themselves; Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Neurodevelopment team; and the Education, Health and Care (EHC) statutory assessment process. Support group for parents @ Star and Garter Pub

Organised by parents who want to just get together to chat, share tips and learn about one another’s experiences.
When: Second Wednesday of the month, starting at 7:30pm

Outside the Box

A day time support group for parent and carers. Facilitated by the parent of an autistic child and a qualified counsellor.
Fortnightly meetings on Thursdays from 1pm to 2.30pm at St Edwards Church Hall, Mottingham SE9 1AQ.

Bromley Mencap - Family support service

Bromley Mencap is a local charity that provides advice and independent support and guidance. This includes independent note-taking at meetings and signposting to local and national services, attendance at diagnostic assessments with parents and support at follow up meetings after the Complex Communication Diagnostic Service feedback meeting.

Bromley Well in collaboration with CASPA are delivering a support service for young people aged 16+. This service offers help and information about :

  • Support with transition into adulthood
  • Managing communication, letters, forms and applications
  • Support with employment
  • Life skills training
  • Signposting to further services

Bromley Parent Voice (BPV) is a voluntary group of parents and carers. Signposting, support and empowering families. Giving parents and carers an opportunity to express their views and input into the planning and delivery of local services.
