SEN advisory and teaching teams - advice for parents about Covid-19 and full school opening

The SEN advisory teams include:

  • The early years team
  • The inclusion, support and advisory team (ISAT)
  • The complex needs team (CNT)
  • The vision impairment peripatetic teams
  • The primary and secondary hearing impairment bases at the Griffins Centre and Darrick Wood school, and hearing impairment peripatetic team.

The SEN Advisory and Teaching Teams are now able to provide visits to early years settings, schools and homes. For certain types of intervention and advice it may still remain preferable to offer support remotely and we continue to be supportive of those requests.

All training, professional forums and networks will continue to be offered via a virtual platform and this will be outlined in the SEND training collaborative brochure and via e-digests sent to schools/settings.

From March 8 2021 all children should be back in school except for those who are extremely clinically vulnerable and have received a shielding letter.

Schools continue to ensure the safety of their pupils by placing classes or year groups into bubbles and maintaining the strictest hygiene routines. Pupils and staff are regularly tested for Covid 19 and are instructed to isolate if they or a family member receive a positive test.
