Education, training and work options for young people (16+)

Turning 16 and coming to the end of formal school life is an important milestone on the way to becoming an adult.

All young people are required to participate in some form of education or training until after their 18th birthday - however, they don't have to stay in school.

There are three main options available to all young people when they reach 16 years old.

16+ Leaving care

The 16+ Leaving care team provides help and support to children and young people who have been looked after by our social services and are leaving care.
