Citizenship ceremonies

Group ceremonies

On arrival at the group ceremony venue you will be asked to show your Home Office letter and photo I.D. You will be given an information pack on being a British Citizen.

The new citizens will be asked to sit at the front of the chamber, while their guests will be asked to sit behind.

The Superintendent Registrar will host the ceremony. After a welcome speech, the Superintendent Registrar will invite each applicant to swear the oath or declare the affirmation.

Once the oaths and affirmations have been sworn and declared, a dignitary will then present you with your citizenship certificate.

An official photographer will be in attendance and will take ceremonial photographs and passport-size photographs as required.

After the ceremony you will be invited to join the dignitary for light refreshments.

There is no charge for a group ceremony.
