Screening in Bromley

Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Due to COVID-19, invitations and follow-up appointments may be delayed for the three cancer screening programmes for breast, bowel and cervical cancer. However, screening is still taking place. You should contact your GP if you believe you should have been invited for screening but have not had any communication regarding an appointment. It is important to remember that screening is for healthy people with no symptoms. If you notice any unusual changes to your body that don’t go away, talk to your doctor. In most cases it won’t be cancer, but it’s best to get it checked out at this time to protect yourself from unnecessary risk.

Screening is a way of finding out if people are at higher risk of a health problem, so that early treatment can be offered or information given to help them make informed decisions.
