Parks and open spaces

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Parks are being regularly maintained, with routine work being undertaken throughout the pandemic period. Play areas and outdoor gyms are open from Saturday 4 July in line with the latest government guidance. Signs and guidance at individual parks and other locations is in place as appropriate, with detailed guidance available.

Idverde, the council’s parks and greenspace management contractor, make regular checks to play areas as part of the work to ensure play equipment is properly maintained, with repair undertaken where needed. Play equipment is not being sanitised and  Visitors to parks are reminded of the need for handwashing, including potentially with hand sanitiser. The same guidance also applies to outdoor gym equipment where it is located.

Park visitors are also being reminded of the continued need to observe social distancing protocols, being respectful of others and not littering.
