Permitted development is development which can be carried out without first seeking planning permission from the Local Planning Authority. More information regarding permitted development is available from the Gov.uk website.

Article 4 Directions

Some areas in the London Borough of Bromley are subject to Article 4 Directions which remove permitted development rights.

Immediate Article 4 Direction in Petts Wood

On 23 February 2021, the London Borough of Bromley made an immediate Article 4 Direction  to remove Part 1, Class AA PD rights (enlargement of a dwellinghouse by construction of additional storeys) in the Petts Wood Area of Special Residential Character.

View a copy of the Immediate Article 4 Direction and a plan of the area to which it relates ; or it can be inspected at the Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH by making a prior appointment by contacting ldf@bromley.gov.uk.

Representations regarding the Direction can be made by email to: ldf@bromley.gov.uk, or in writing to: Head of Planning Policy and Strategy, London Borough of Bromley, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH.

Representations must be received by 6 April 2021.

Unless confirmed, this Direction will expire on 23 August 2021, being 6 months from the date on which it was made.

Non-Immediate Article 4 Directions to remove upwards extension PD rights

On 15 March 2021, the London Borough of Bromley made the following 16 non-immediate Article 4 Directions to remove various ‘upwards extension’ PD rights granted under Part 1 and Part 20 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended):

Representations must be received by 26 April 2021.

If confirmed following consideration of representations, the Directions will come into effect not before 15 March 2022.
