Coronavirus (COVID 19) - Bromley rapid testing
How to book a test to identify those with Covid-19, but no symptoms
This testing programme aims to identify people with the Covid-19, but no symptoms, and ask them to self-isolate to protect others, especially our clinically most vulnerable residents and of course, each other. We know there is a proportion of people who are asymptomatic and yet the virus is found to be present on testing and so they are in danger of spreading it to others without knowing.
The rapid test site is accessible by adults (over 18).
Children cannot be admitted to the site. Please come alone, or your test will have to be rebooked at another time.
You should not attend a test site unless wearing a face covering. Anyone with a medical exemption should email firstname.lastname@example.org so that alternative arrangements can be considered.
Testing will take place at one of our newly set up rapid test centres either at the Civic Centre or, from 11 January, at the Kentwood Adult Education Centre in Penge. Both use the lateral flow testing process which is quick and does not require laboratory processing meaning that you will get results to your smart phone within 30 minutes of taking the test.
All you need to do is book a test through the link above, turn up on time at the Civic Centre bringing your smart phone, if you have one, and id with you for the registration process. If you arrive on time, any queuing will be kept to a minimum, and you will not need to wait for the result. The testing process takes just 15 minutes and then 30 minutes later the results will be sent to your phone or your email address, so there is no need to wait around.
If you test positive, you must self-isolate and order a Covid-19 home test to confirm the result – this will be a laboratory test which will take longer to process. You should self-isolate for 10 days on receipt of a positive result, even if you feel well.
This process is not for those with symptoms, so if you start to feel unwell with any of the coronavirus symptoms - a high temperature, continuous cough or a change in taste or smell you should book at test through the normal channels online at www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling 119.
Thank you for taking part. We thank you for your part in this and encourage you to take part in this regular testing regime to help further mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
