Parking enforcement

Parking restrictions are designed to control parking for the benefit of everyone; by enforcing these restrictions, there are less obstructions which helps to keep traffic flowing freely and improves road safety

A team of Civil Enforcement Officers patrol the borough’s streets and car parks daily to enforce parking restrictions.  Modern technology is used to issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) and record images of parking contraventions. Each officer is also equipped with a body worn video device, which helps with training and improving communication with motorists and the general public.

Covid-19: Civil Enforcement Officers’ working practices

APCOA employ all Civil Enforcement officers (CEOs) and brief them regularly on COVID secure working practices based on central government guidance and industry best practice. APCOA also ensure that CEOs have access to personal protective equipment including hand sanitiser, masks and gloves.

Although normal enforcement patrols have resumed, shift start times are now staggered to minimise the number of staff in the base at any one time.

CEOs are actively encouraged to provide assistance to the public and offer guidance on safe parking facilities.
