Old Palace - The Function Room

The Old Palace was built in 1775 for the Bishop of Rochester. Since then the original Georgian building has had several additions including a colonnaded veranda running the length of the south side of the building. The immaculate grounds include a large lawn area with mature trees, shrubs and rose bushes to the rear of the Palace, plus a lake with birds and other wildlife.

From the gravelled courtyard you step into the entrance hallway, which contains a striking wood panelled staircase and is decorated with carvings over the entrance. Overlooking the grounds, in the Old Palace is the Function Room which seats up to 45 guests. After the ceremony parties can go into the grounds via the french windows onto the colonnade.

Photographs can be taken in the gravelled courtyard, on the staircase in the entrance hallway of the Palace, as well as in the ceremony room and the grounds. The interior locations are in areas not usually available to the public.
