New Mayor appointed in virtual meeting first

Councillor Hannah Gray of West Wickham Ward was elected Mayor of Bromley for 2020-21 at the annual meeting of the council on Wednesday 13 May.

The historic meeting, where the Mayor of Bromley was appointed in a virtual online meeting was streamed live via the council’s website. The new Mayor, in one of her first mayoral duties, appointed Councillor Stephen Wells of Copers Cope Ward as Deputy Mayor. The new Mayor also signalled her intention to focus on working with residents in support of the borough community and to raise funds for two charities, both Cystic Fibrosis Supporters and Chartwell Cancer Trust.
